Trash, Recycling and Bulk Pick Up

The Town of North Beach provides household trash, yard waste, recycling and bulk collection services.

Household Trash and Yard Waste

Household trash and yard waste is collected on Monday and Friday of each week unless a major holiday falls on the same day. All trash must be bagged and secured in a trash can with a lid. The town’s trash contractor will not collect trash that is placed in containers labeled 'recycling,' including the large blue recycling toters with the North Beach logo. Please use the blue toters only for recyclables. Trash cans should be placed curbside the evening before collection days. Yard waste must be bagged and placed next to your cans for pick up. Sticks, tree limbs, and branches must be cut into three-foot lengths and bundled or secured together or placed in a trash can. Please make sure the empty cans are promptly put away after the trash is collected. If you notice stray trash around your property or the street near your property, kindly pick it up and dispose of it. There will be no alleyway pickups. Thank you for helping to keep our town clean and beautiful.

Recyclable Materials

Recyclables will be picked up every Wednesday at the curbside. Recyclables must be placed in recycle containers and can be commingled. The large blue recycling toters with the North Beach logo should be filled with recyclables only and not used for regular trash. For guidance on recyclable items, please refer to the Residential Recycling Guide. To request a recycle bin, complete the online form or fill out a hard copy of the request form at Town Hall.

Bulk Trash

Bulk trash pick up will be on a once-a-month basis, by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please contact the Town Hall by Tuesday prior to the bulk pick-up and provide the number of items to be picked up and a brief description of each item. You also need to provide a contact name, street address and phone number. Bulk pick up items should not be placed curbside until the evening prior or the morning of the scheduled pick up. Some acceptable items are refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, mattresses, sofas, tables, chairs, appliances, etc. Construction debris is not eligible for pick up.

Unacceptable Waste

Do not place unacceptable waste in with trash, recycling or bulk items. Unacceptable wastes shall include, without limitation, any regulated quantity of a Hazardous Waste or Hazardous Substance as defined by federal, state or local laws or regulations; containerized wastes, the contents of which are not able to be identified; sludges; waste from a pollution control process or cleanup of a spill of a chemical substance or commercial product; any dead animal or animal part; biohazards or regulated medical waste, friable asbestos, construction and demolition waste, soil, sod, tree stumps, paint, lead, acid, batteries, motor oil, or any item too large or too heavy to be loaded in collection vehicles with assistance.
